ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Revised Procedure for Admission

As per “Revised Procedure for Admission (RP 2019)” for the basic qualification (Except Medical/ Dental / Homoeopathy/ Architecture) for admission to the various programmes of the Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) Salem.

This Procedure shall come into force on and from the date of approval from the Academic Council and are subject to such modifications as may be approved by the Academic Council from time to time.

2. Admission Procedure

Admission to the various programmes offered by the VMRF(DU) are made based on the qualifying examination expect Medical, Dental, Homoeopathy and Architecture.

2.1. Admission to Research Programe

The admission procedure defined in Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) Ph.D. Regulations 2016 as follows.

The University will release advertisement in leading dailies and University website at appropriate time with the number of vacancies. There shall be normally two sessions for registration in April and October subject to vacancies from 2019 onwards. The application form can be downloaded from the university website www.vinayakamission.com. The filled in application to be submitted along with prescribed fee and the relevant certificates.

Admission shall be made through an Entrance Test/ Interview conducted at National Level by the University. However, candidates having regular full time M.Phil. Degree or passed UGC – NET (including JRF) / UGC – CSIR NET (including JRF) / SLET / GATE / teacher fellowship holder or equivalent examinations are exempted from the entrance test, but have to appear for the interview.

An Entrance Test shall be with qualifying marks as 50%. A relaxation of 5% of marks (from 50% to 45%) shall be allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy)/Differently – abled candidates. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% of subject specific and average of 70% to the entrance test and 30% to the performance in the interview/viva voce. In interview the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before Research Committee, constituted by the Head of the Institution.

2.2. Admission to MD / MS / MDS Degree Course

Admission to MD / MS / MDS course is made through online Counseling process conducted by the MCC of DGHS (Directorate General of Health Services), Govt. of India, New Delhi on the basis of marks obtained in the NEET - (PG) Examination in accordance with the guidelines and directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India / Govt. of India / Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India, New Delhi from time to time.

2.3. Admission to MD (Homoeopathy) Degree Course

Admission to MD (Homoeopathy) Degree course is made through Counseling process conducted by the Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem on the basis of marks obtained in the AIAPGET Examination in accordance with the guidelines and directions issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India / Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi from time to time.

2.4. Admission to other PG Degree Course: (Such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Engineering, Management, Arts & Science and Allied Health Sciences)

Admission to the above PG Programmes are made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying Examinations (Relevant Degree or its equivalent) as per the Apex Council Norms and the merit based counseling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF (DU), Salem.

2.5. Admission to MBBS / BDS Degree Course

Admission to MBBS / BDS Degree Course is made through online Counseling process conducted by the MCC of DGHS (Directorate General of Health Services), Govt. of India, New Delhi on the basis of marks obtained in the NEET (UG) Examination in accordance with the guidelines and directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India / Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India / Govt. of India, New Delhi from time to time.

2.6. Admission to BHMS Degree Course

Admissions to BHMS Degree Course is made based on the Marks / Ranks secured in the NEET Examination conducted by NTA at the National level. Counseling is conducted by the VMRF (Deemed to be University), Salem.

2.7. Admission to B.Arch. Degree Course

Admission to B.Arch. course is made based on the Marks / Ranks secured in the NATA Examination conducted by the Council of Architecture / JEE Part II Examination conducted by NTA at the National level. Counseling is conducted by the VMRF (Deemed to be University), Salem.

2.8. Admission to other UG Degree Course (Such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Engineering, Arts & Science and Allied Health Sciences)

Admission to the above UG Programmes are made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying Examination (H.Sc., or its equivalent) as per the Apex Council Norms and the merit based counseling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF (DU), Salem.

2.9. Admission to B.Ed. Degree Course

Admission to B.Ed Degree Course is made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying Examination (Relevant Degree or its equivalent) as per the NCTE norms and the merit based counseling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF (DU), Salem.

2.10. Admission to B.P.Ed / BPES Degree Course
2.10.1 B.P.Ed. (Bachelor of Physical Education) Degree Course

Admission to B.P.Ed. Degree Course is made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying Examinations (Any Degree or its equivalent) and marks secured in the Selection trail & personal interview as per the NCTE / State Govt. / University Norms and the merit based counseling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF (DU), Salem.

2.10.2. BPES (Bachelor of Physical Education & Sports) Degree Course

Admission to BPES Degree Course is made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying Examinations (H.Sc. or its equivalent) and marks secured in the Selection trail & personal interview as per the NCTE / State Govt. / University Norms and the merit based counseling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF (DU), Salem.

2.11. Admission to Diploma Course in Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences
2.11.1. D.Pharm Course

Admission to the Diploma in Pharmacy Programme is made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying Examinations (H.Sc., or its equivalent) as per the Pharmacy Council of India Norms and the merit based counseling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF (DU), Salem.

2.11.2. Diploma in Allied Health Sciences

Admission to Diploma course in Allied Health Sciences are made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying Examinations and the merit based counseling conducted by the Admission Monitoring Committee (AMC) of VMRF (DU), Salem.

3. Eligibility Certificate

Candidates who have passed the qualifying Undergraduate degree examination from other universities shall obtain an Eligibility Certificate from this University by remitting the prescribed fee along with the application form for each course (If applicable).

4) Last date for Admission

As prescribed by the respective Apex Council / Govt. of India from time to time.

5) Admission under Foreign / NRI Category (All UG / PG Programme)

The institution deemed to be university earmarks 15% of seats for international students under foreign/NRI category which include foreign citizens, PIO Card Holders, OCI (Overseas Citizens of India), Non-Resident Indians and NRI sponsored students (sponsored by NRI Parents, parents, brother/sister* and candidate’s brother/sister*).

Admissions are based on the candidate's performance in the 10+2 of India or equivalent examination and satisfying the guidelines set forth by the governing councils for Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Homoeopathy, Physiotherapy, Allied Health, Engineering, Architecture, and Arts & Science, etc. Admission is made based on the Marks/Grades obtained in the 10+2 of India or its equivalent examination and on a first-come–first served basis for all courses except Medical, Dental and Homoeopathy Courses which is based on the NEET Ranking and B.Arch course based on the NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Admission under Foreign/NRI category for MBBS, BDS and BHMS Degree courses will be made on the basis of valid score in the All India overall rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

Foreign citizens with PIO or OCI and Non-Resident Indians can also apply under general category

Applications are separate for both the categories. However, candidates who have confirmed their admission under Foreign/NRI category cannot shift to General Category under any circumstances.

5.1. NRI Sponsored candidates

Candidates who are claiming to be NRI as per the directions / orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in its order dated. 22.08.2017 passed in W.P. (C) No. 689 of 2017-Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs Union of India & Ors Dated. 22.08.2017 and also fulfills the eligibility criteria, procedures, guidelines and directions issued by the Government of India / Concerned authorities from time to time.

5.2. Details of Sponsorer under NRI Category
  • i) If the mother or father of the candidate is a NRI and residing abroad ordinarily
    or
  • ii) If the first degree relation of the candidate is a NRI and residing abroad ordinarily and it would include real brother and sister
    or
  • iii) If any of the ‘nearest relation’ is a NRI and residing abroad ordinarily. Nearest relation would include
    • a) Real brother and sister of father i.e., real uncle and real aunt;
    • b) Real brother and sister of mother i.e., real maternal uncle and maternal aunt;
    • c) Father and mother of father i.e., grandfather and grandmother;
    • d) Father and mother of mother i.e., maternal grandfather and maternal grandmother; and
    • e) First degree-paternal and maternal cousins.
6) Instructions to the candidates for filling the application forms
  • Read carefully all the instructions before filling up the application form.
  • Forms must be filled by the candidates in own handwriting
  • Fill all the columns in English using capital letters only
  • Do not leave any column blank. (√ Tick the box whichever is applicable)
  • Each candidate must submit only one application for the course.
  • All information in all the forms must be identical.
7) Enclosures with the application

The filled in applications should be accompanied by attested copies of the following documents.

  • Mark sheet of the qualifying Examinations
  • Proof of Date of Birth
  • Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate issued from the institution last studied
  • Migration Certificate ( if applicable)
  • Community Certificate ( if applicable)
  • Provisional / Degree Certificate (if applicable)
  • Internship Certificate (if applicable)
  • Council Registration Certificate ( if applicable)
  • Experience Certificate(if applicable)
  • Aadhaar Card

When a candidate is selected provisionally for admission to the course at the college under the ambit of VMRF (DU), he / she has to remit the prescribed fee within the date stipulated by the University for the Course. Fee paid will be refunded based on the UGC / University Regulations as detailed below.

If any candidate discontinues from the course and the seat is rendered vacant, the first year fees paid will be forfeited and the student has to remit the ‘entire course fee’ for the remaining years of the course period.
04 If any candidate resigns / withdraws after the last date of admission as prescribed by the DGHS / MCI /DCI. The entire course fee for the remaining years of the course period has to be paid by the candidate.

11) Code of Conduct for the Students
  • The Student should conduct himself / herself in an exemplary manner so as to be a model for others.
  • All students will have to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the college.
  • If any student is involved in ragging, testing or any anti-social activity, he/she will be expelled from the Institution / university and criminal proceeding may be initiated against him / her.
  • The students must be present in the classes during all the working hours and sincerely apply their mind to studies. They must also participate in all the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • A minimum prescribed attendance is required for appearing the University Examinations.
  • The students should not participate in strike or resort to any other form of demonstration or unruly behavior.
